WEB DESIGN 101 FACILITATOR BIOS:
“Raf’s a high school student attending Mary Ward CSS. He loves being involved in and out of school, and over the years he’s been part of a number of social justice groups, served on his school’s student council, and currently, he is the yearbook editor. Raf has been a part of the YAC since it’s beginnings long long ago. He started to dabble in web design when he was a wee lad of 12, and since then, it’s become his hobby and primary source of income. Raf loves to share what he knows, is looking forward to the workshop and finds it quite awkward to write about himself in the third person.”
This is what Jimmy has to say:
“I am currently a grade 12 student at Metropolitan Preparatory Academy, and am still undecided on my studies for university. I am an avid baseball and soccer fan, and enjoy making a difference in my community and doing anything that is not related to school.”
“Ligia Hendry is the Web Specialist for Family Service Association of Toronto. A graduate of George Brown College, Ligia has several certificates in Desktop Publishing, Publishing Design, Internet Publishing and Website Design. She is also a member of the International Webmasters Association. Ligia began her web career as a freelance web designer, serving primarily small organizations (with two exceptions, the websites she worked on are now defunct!) In March 2003, she joined FSA Toronto, where she conducted a thorough consultative evaluation of the agency’s previous website, and redesigned and developed the current one. Besides creating new web pages and micro-websites for FSA Toronto–often with tight deadlines–Ligia meets periodically with program teams to review their needs (and nag for updates), writes content, produces the external electronic newsletter, conducts training as needed, writes statistics reports and maintains the additional services required by the website. Before her Canadian life, Ligia was a Human Rights activist and a Geologist in Romania. Stories about her life in the mines of Romania might be shared during the break :)”
